[07] ABOUT
Mathematician, garden-builder, and founder of NEA Tech Studio — making the case for common green space, on site, on stage, and in print.
[00] BIOGRAPHY
Emilio, a Mathematics postgraduate from Imperial College London, is a dedicated advocate for common green spaces. At Imperial, he worked with Rev. Andrew Wilson to secure £100,000 in funding to transform a former COVID-testing site into an award-winning community garden.
NEA Tech Studio
Emilio founded NEA Tech Studio Limited to connect his passion for common green spaces with his career in technology and design engineering.
Worshipful Company of Gardeners
His work in the horticultural sector has led him to become a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Gardeners — an honour he received for his contributions to making London greener.
Emilio is part of the Emerging Leaders Programme at Anthropy UK, and has attended the national gathering at the Eden Project, where he represents community gardening groups and their interests. He also co-hosted a workshop on the values of a shared economy.
During his undergraduate studies at Lancaster, he led the Eco-Gardening Society as president, growing it into the university's third-largest student group.
A passionate promoter of green spaces, Emilio shares his views and energy through public speaking. He delivered the TEDx talk "Over the Garden Wall" and spoke at the SOS-International gathering in Ghent.
Emilio is an author for the management consultancy journal Tom Spencer, and has published a paper in the London Review for Education, "How to Build Educational Outdoor Spaces."
Emilio has a strong presence in the media, including features in the Sunday Times and Imperial's student press.
